PreZero International at the PRECOP Climate Conference in Katowice
At the beginning of October, PreZero International took part in one of Europe’s largest climate events – the PRECOP conference in Katowice, Poland. The meeting served as a prelude to the upcoming UN Climate Summit, COP 30, scheduled to take place in Belém, Brazil. It brought together representatives of businesses, non-governmental organizations, and scientific institutions from around the world. The event provided a unique opportunity to exchange experiences and draw inspiration from best practices in environmental protection.
Advancing Climate Protection through Circular Economy
As part of the PRECOP, PreZero International and PreZero Poland joined a technical expert session co-organized by the UN Global Compact Network Poland.
The discussion focused on the need to develop a sector-based approach to calculating avoided greenhouse gas emissions in the context of implementing circular economy solutions.
Representatives of the UNGC from around the world joined the discussion, including delegates from Georgia, Croatia, Japan, Portugal, France, Turkey, Serbia, Spain, the United Kingdom, India, Indonesia, Thailand, the Netherlands, Lebanon, Austria, and Saudi Arabia. The purpose of the meeting was to initiate an international dialogue on a methodological concept developed by PreZero in cooperation with experts from academia, business, and industry organizations.
The initiative aims to address an existing gap that makes it difficult for entities implementing circular economy solutions to accurately and measurably present their contribution to the green transition. The concept was positively received by participants, who emphasized the importance of creating credible tools to support the development of a circular economy.
