Shaping the Future
A year dedicated to consolidating and advancing our expertise, as well as enhancing our capabilities across the board. The establishment of PreZero Polymers International GmbH centralizes all plastic-related operations of the PreZero Group, while the PreZero Arena in Sinsheim emerges as the Bundesliga's first Zero Waste stadium.Additionally, PreZero launches the "PreZero SPOT" app, an innovative online tool for optimizing sustainable packaging. With the publication of PreZero's first sustainability report in December, we showcased our societal, environmental, and economic impacts, reaffirming our commitment to transparency and accountability.

Innovation & Partnerships at the Forefront
The launch of Europe's most advanced LVP sorting facility in Eitting continues to underscore PreZero's commitment to technological innovation. By expanding into Sustainable Packaging, we strengthen our role as consultants specializing in sustainable packaging solutions.PreZero makes its debut at the international trade fair IFAT and other major exhibitions, marking our global presence. Additionally, our collaboration with RB Leipzig and the creation of DIN Spec 91436, the first certification for sustainable waste management, represent significant milestones in our journey toward the Zero Waste Vision.

Establishing Market Dominance in Europe
PreZero's acquisitions of SUEZ in Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, as well as the addition of Cespa from Spain and Portugal, mark our biggest year of growth yet. A truly transformative year, in which we welcome more than 23,000 new team members across numerous new locations.In Germany, PreZero Dual initiates a nationwide licensing of sales packaging. Our synergy within the Schwarz Group begins to bear fruit as more and more consumer products made from PreZero recyclates become available at Lidl and Kaufland. Additionally, Lidl introduces a deodorant can made partly from recycled aluminum by PreZero Pyral, which wins the German Packaging Award 2021.

Breaking New Ground
PreZero continues to grow, strengthening its European position with the acquisition of waste disposal and recycling sites of SUEZ in Sweden. We make a significant investments in Belgium with a new sorting facility in Evergem and unveil a cutting-edge, fully automated sorting plant for lightweight packaging in Zwolle, Netherlands. The year is highlighted by partnerships, including a more active collaboration with WWF, a cooperation with the Allianz Arena in Munich, and an investment in the innovative “Kunststoff Recycling Grünstadt” recycling plant. The year also sees the expansion of PreZero’s brand portfolio with the addition of OutNature and PreTurn, along with our initiative to recycle household aluminum waste through PreZero Pyral.

The Birth of Today's PreZero
In January 2019, PreZero is established as the unified name for all our waste and recycling management endeavors, marking the company’s official launch. We also venture into recycling post-consumer plastics by acquiring Sky Plastic Group. Our strategic partnership with TSG Hoffenheim transforms the PreZero Arena into a symbol of our commitment to sustainability.

The founding of GreenCycle GmbH laid the groundwork for PreZero within the Schwarz Groupmarks the beginning of PreZero within the Schwarz Group. Initially geared towards resource management for Lidl, it extends to Kaufland and Schwarz Production, eventually expanding to serve external clients as well.
