PreZero Netherlands cuts impressive 665 tons of CO₂ emissions in 2024
In July 2025, PreZero Netherlands has once again demonstrated its commitment to ongoing and consistent climate action within the company and across its entire supply chain by achieving Level 4 of the CO₂ Performance Ladder.
The impact speaks for itself: 664.6 tons of CO₂ emissions avoided in 2024 through smarter choices in logistics, material reuse, and renewable energy.
The CO₂ Performance Ladder, developed by the Foundation for Climate Friendly Procurement and Business (SKAO), provides a framework for Dutch companies to measure and reduce emissions. Certified since 2016, PreZero Netherlands once more reached the second-highest level in 2024.
“Being transparent about emissions is an important part of our Zero Waste strategy. We want to help build a society that wastes less, reuses more, and protects resources collectively,”
Suzanne Stokman-Godschalk,
Sustainability Manager at PreZero Netherlands
Zero-emission transport is gaining speed
PreZero Netherlands is advancing the transition to zero-emission vehicles in the waste sector. In summer 2025, 43 electric trucks and two hydrogen trucks are already in operation. By year-end, the number of electric trucks will grow to 80.
The company’s ambitious goal is to have 30 percent of the fleet electric by 2030. This is particularly challenging for waste companies, as refuse trucks rely on complex, energy-intensive hydraulic systems. That’s why all vehicles are powered at in-house charging stations using 100% Dutch wind energy.
The leasing fleet is also moving to electric, with full conversion planned by 2030. PreZero Netherlands is at the forefront of introducing zero-emission trucks in the waste sector.
